I Stand a Ghost of a Chance

September 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I have friends amazingly. These friends also love videogames like me. And so hence, we decided to make a machinima series.

Guess what game it is? That’s right! Halo 3!

For even more details, go to goac.wordpress.com! Our group is Ghost of a Chance Productions! We’ll have the first episode up this week or later.

Bit of trivia for ya. We’ve gone through 3 different versions of the first episode already.

TF2- I now get the point of Soldiering

September 9, 2008 · 1 Comment

Please note that this post will be using Team Fortress 2 terminology

Recently, I discovered the joy of playing as the soldier. Now, before this revelation, the angry American veteran was my least played class, with a play time of less than half an hour, and a highest point streak of 2. I hated the soldier. His weapon annoyed me, his speed annoyed me, and the fact that everyone aims for him also annoyed me. But I somehow felt dirty that I didn’t give at least a mild chance. So I buckled down during one match of Dustbowl and wore the combat boots.

I got destroyed.

So I then tried again the following round.

I got obliderated.

I tried again, only this time with the mindset of my favorite class, the spy, an idea that I have to credit to someone on Ubercharged.

I destroyed everything and won the round with a total point score 25 points higher than the second place spot.

I find that playing the Soldier with the, “Where is he going? Where will he attack? How can I surprise him?” mindset of spies and pyros helped me enormously. Plus my Medic was great. Also, mastering the art of the rocket jump as a combat technique helped as well.  So I now see the light. Though he’s still my least played class, the militarian American is now one of my favorite.

Also, Crockets are god.

Things that Kick Ass- Blogs

September 7, 2008 · 2 Comments

Now, I love the internets. There are so many things that kick ass in it. Blogs, comics, videos, and just websites in general. So, I decided that I’ll tell people about the things that I think kick ass on the internet and see if they agree. But I have a feeling that the things I put people already know about but oh well!

Format-wise, I’ll list a few that are at the top of my list, then the rest without a description because I get lazy.

Today, Blogs!

  • 1Fort: This blog is written by Chris Livingston, who also made the comic Concerned, among other things. It’s filled with witty banter and lots of talk of the game TF2.
  • Pentadact:This blog is written by Tom Francis, who writes for the UK PC Gamer magazine. Filled with more banter, and talk of games, tv, movies, etc.
  • Fully Ramblo Matic: This blog is written by the hilarious and british Yhatzee Croshaw, maker of Zero Punctuation, some of the most amazingly funny video game reviews I’ve ever read. The blog is filled with all sorts of gems, including funny stories, flowcharts, and more.
  • Chruch of the Flying Spaghetti Monster: This is the website of the true religion. Find salvation with our noodly lord. He doesn’t really care if you do or not, but it would be cool.

Further reading includes but is not limited to:

And I do realize that this is a small amount of blogs but oh well. I’m selective.

My Time in Britain.

July 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’m an Englishman who is living in America. So when I visit my homeland, it’s a breath of fresh air. But instead of talking (erm, typing) about how the people are nicer, the TV is better, the food is tastier, the water is cleaner, etc, etc, etc, I’m going to talk about the countryside.

Now, most American’s as far as I can tell don’t think twice about the scenery in Britain. Well, they should. I’m in Yorkshire, right on the border, and let me tell you, it is absolutely beautiful. Rolling hills of farmland, acres of wide open greenery, birds flying in massive flocks. It’s astounding. And the forests are amazing, filled with all sorts of tree that I don’t know the name of, covered with shrubs, little animals running to and fro.

If you came to this part of the country, you’ll get a smack in the face at just how amazingly beautiful it all is. So if you ever want some place to go bird-watching or something like that, go to Firbeck. Smallest town in all of England.

And while I’m at it, I just want to say that American TV sucks compared to English, though I do miss the Colbert Report.

So Am I A Member of the Blogosphere Now?

June 13, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I do hate the internet sometimes, because random idiots with nothing better to do will take get a blog and tell a bunch of people who probably won’t read it a ton of stuff that they really don’t need to know. Heck, these people probably are just trying to fill the empty void in their lives were a social life should be.

And on that note, welcome to my blog!

Hi! I’m Alex Morris! I’m in Highschool and I like video games. In fact, I’m a bit of a nerd. But then again, you already knew that seeing as how I have a blog…

Oh! And one last thing. I’m BRITISH AND DAMN PROUD OF IT!

Also, I’ll be talking mostly about video-games, technology, music, etc.
