I’m an Englishman who is living in America. So when I visit my homeland, it’s a breath of fresh air. But instead of talking (erm, typing) about how the people are nicer, the TV is better, the food is tastier, the water is cleaner, etc, etc, etc, I’m going to talk about the countryside.
Now, most American’s as far as I can tell don’t think twice about the scenery in Britain. Well, they should. I’m in Yorkshire, right on the border, and let me tell you, it is absolutely beautiful. Rolling hills of farmland, acres of wide open greenery, birds flying in massive flocks. It’s astounding. And the forests are amazing, filled with all sorts of tree that I don’t know the name of, covered with shrubs, little animals running to and fro.
If you came to this part of the country, you’ll get a smack in the face at just how amazingly beautiful it all is. So if you ever want some place to go bird-watching or something like that, go to Firbeck. Smallest town in all of England.
And while I’m at it, I just want to say that American TV sucks compared to English, though I do miss the Colbert Report.
